What are the dates?
The festival & competition begin Thursday, Sept. 19, 2019 and end Saturday, Sept. 21, 2019.
When do submissions start and end?
Submissions begin on April 1st and end in mid-July, 2019.
When will I be notified if I've been selected?
You will hear from us by the end of July, 2019.
How much does it cost to enter the Tim Northern Comedy Festival?
$25 submission fee. If selected, you will receive up to three showcase spots, T-shirt & other swag, free workshops, hotel & restaurant discounts, and tickets to other festival shows.
How much does it cost to enter the Caravan Comedy Competition?
$50 early bird submission fee (increases to $60 on July 1). If selected, you will receive a recording of your set(s) at the Caravan, T-shirt & other swag, free workshops, hotel & restaurant discounts, and tickets to other competition & festival shows.
If I submit for the competition, can I still be considered for the festival?
Yes. Some comics who are not selected for the competition may be asked if they would like to participate in the festival.
If I am selected for the competition, can I also be in the festival?
Yes. Competition performers can be scheduled for festival shows if they are not committed to be in the contest (and they want to).
If I don’t make the competition or festival, will my money be refunded?
There are no refunds of submission fees.
How will the competition be judged?
Comics will be judged by a committee of three judges and audience vote. Three comics will advance from each round, with 12-15 comics competing in the finale.
